Are you an experienced Architectural Technologist, CAD Technician, or Surveying Technician?
We are looking for an Architectural Technologist, CAD Technician, or Surveying Technician to join our growing team.
As our client list expands, we need a technically skilled person to help us put together Building Regulations and technical drawing packages for a whole range of projects. We work on a lot of residential properties and beautiful listed or historic buildings, with a bit of commercial work in the mix, too.
You'll be joining a close-knit team where everyone works together to get the best results for our clients. We have a great reputation for our planning and design work and pride ourselves on being a professional and supportive place to work.
Your main role will be creating the technical drawings and Building Regulation packages for our projects. We use Caddie CAD software and have a great support system in place, so while it would be helpful if you’ve used it before, we’ll provide full training.
Some of the projects you might work on include:
* Repairing, converting, and extending listed and historic buildings
* Designing new builds, extensions, and alterations for homes
* Working on a variety of other buildings, including commercial properties
We’re looking for someone with excellent technical design skills and a good working knowledge of Building Regulations. You’ll be advising on construction materials, sustainability, and building performance, working closely with the team and chatting confidently with clients and other professionals. A solid understanding of materials and construction methods is key.
A quick heads-up: our office is out in the countryside, so you'll definitely need reliable transport to get here.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm

What you’ll be doing:
* Creating Building Regulation and technical drawing packages
* Producing detailed construction drawings and technical info
* Supporting projects from planning approval through to completion
* Advising on Building Regulations and other technical standards
* Talking with clients, consultants, and contractors
* Helping to solve technical problems as they come up
* Working with the team to deliver high-quality projects
What we’re looking for:
* A qualification like AssocRICS, CIAT, or similar
* Proven experience as an Architectural Technologist, CAD Technician, or Surveying Technician
* Strong skills in technical drawing and detailing
* A good grasp of Building Regulations and construction standards
* An understanding of materials, sustainability, and building methods
* A confident and friendly communicator
* A positive, flexible, "can-do" attitude and a willingness to learn
* A great team player
* Your own transport is essential
* Must have the legal right to work in the UK

Planning and Development Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Rural Surveyor, or a Planning and Development Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent professional, client and administrative skills and have a strong understanding of both local and national planning systems. This role is not just about managing tasks but also contributing significantly as a fee earner for the company.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on rural and urban planning and development projects.
- Conduct site and project appraisals.
- Prepare planning applications and appeals.
- Manage and coordinate planning projects from inception to completion.
- Liaise with clients, team members, local authorities and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and planning policies.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Contribute to business development and fee-earning activities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in rural surveying and/or planning and development.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of local and national planning systems.
- Ability to manage projects and teams effectively.
- At least AssocRICS or MRICS qualified.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
